Such an amazing home and property! The cows were such a joy to watch and be around. They even came up to us and took watermelon out of our hands! The home was immaculate, tastefully decorated, and had everything we needed. The views from the porch provided a much needed serenity and peace our family was searching for. Especially at sunset. The dogs had an absolute blast running around the property and our 2 boys (2 and 3) did too. There host and property manager went above and beyond and met our every need and then some. We are grateful. There is a short drive down an unpaved road to get to the property, but nothing that any ordinary vehicle couldn’t drive down with a mild amount of caution. If you are searching for the perfect farm house to slow down and relax in, look no further, you will not be disappointed.

It was a beautiful place! I’m a lover of old homes and really enjoyed our stay here. However, there was a few unfortunate mishaps that came up. Nowhere in the listing did it say to watch out for cow poop! Our poor kids had to stay indoors during our stay here because every part of the yard was covered in poop (and ant hills). Another thing was the obvious signs of wasps nests around the porch of the property. We could not truly enjoy relaxing on the porch because of this. While I understand that some things of the home come with the age of the house, there was mold in the restrooms and I did not feel comfortable showering with a moldy shower. All in all, it was a great stay, but the price of the stay did not make sense for some of these things that stood out to me.

Out in the country, away from others, peaceful at night, enjoyed the darkness and stars, and most of all this was a place my family and I could get away for a bit and enjoy each other. Beautiful house, gorgeous kitchen and plenty of space for a large group. Love this place.

The house and location were perfect for a girl's weekend of 4 ladies just wanting to relax and catch up. Easy check in / check out, a beautiful private setting, comfortable beds and a very clean and well stocked house. We're already thinking of doing again at same location next year.

Due to recent heavy rains, the road leading to the home was flooded in one section. I reached out asking if the caretaker could at least come fill the short section of road with gravel from the local hardware store, I was told no that the gravel truck would get stuck. I didn't ask for the gravel truck to come lay gravel, I asked that gravel from the local hardware store be purchased and put down. Due to this refusal, I didn't want to risk my car getting stuck so I left it parked on the long driveway which is about a 10 to 13 minute walk to the house. I had a disabled person with me and was glad that a relative in a truck decided to come who took us to the home. This same relative eventually got stuck in the neighbor's yard due to trying to avoid getting stuck on the host's driveway. Once on the host's property, there is gravel part of the way then will you have to drive on grass. The road needs to be built up. Tons of bird poop was on the porch, wasted food in fridge, and trash cans..

Great location to get away and just relax peacefully. My friends and I came here during Memorial Day weekend and we enjoyed our stay. The house had all the things needed in the kitchen to cook and plenty of space. Ali provided clear instructions and was very responsive.

We had an amazing 3-night stay! The house was beautiful, spotless, and had everything we needed. The property was a dream—peaceful, scenic, and perfect for our dogs, who had an absolute blast. We loved feeding the cows carrots and relaxing by the Solo Stove. Highly recommend for a relaxing escape!

Gorgeous Farm House: We used this home to accommodate my daughter and her bridesmaids the night before her wedding so it served us extremely well. Not only did the girls have a great stay, but the photographer loved the backdrop as well.

Very relaxing experience! The amenities and overall feel of the property are very welcoming. Getting up with the sun and sitting on the porch you will hear at least a dozen different species of birds (maybe not a dozen but a lot) — very peaceful. The host is easy to communicate with and is very accommodating. If you want quiet solitude in the country and not too far from the luxuries of a town (restaurants, shopping, etc) you owe it to yourself to stay here. My wife and I were the only ones here but it would be great for a family getaway. Even though I don’t currently have a dog (dang it) it is a dog friendly place.

Such a beautiful place to spend a peaceful weekend, the property is stunning and the home is incredible it’s a dream. So many games on hand and a fully stocked kitchen we did all the baking our hearts desired!! And you can’t beat a wrap around porch with baby cows greeting you throughout the day. My family (six adult, 3 children) loved staying at this lovely farmhouse in Crockett, Texas. The kitchen was well equipped, the living spaces more than matched our needs, and we often sat out on the many rocking chairs on the porch that wrapped around the house. Our granddaughters loved the small cattle herd that grazed not too far from the house; one of them gave names to most of the cows and calfs. Some storms came through during our last full day but we always had good communications with our host. We would love to come back and stay here again sometime!!

We came to Crockett to attend my Grandmother's funeral. 😩😭. Upon arrival, a few words describe this home: beautiful, serene, peaceful, "healing," and country-style luxury living! I thought I knew how beautiful this place was until I showed up. The wow factor was mind-blowing. INSTANT HEALING! From the location on a private road nestled in the meadows, the lovely, spacious layout of the home, well-stocked pantry and fridge with snacks, every dish imaginable to cook with, coffee maker and tea kettle, freedom to roam the countryside, and crisp A/C on a hot summer day/night transformed our trip from sad to one of the best. And Ali was the best host ever! He made us feel right at home. He was super attentive and ensured we had everything we needed to heal. We had a slight issue with the disposal and dishwasher backed up. He sent Carrie over (one of the sweetest ladies on earth), who fixed it in no time. An unforgettable experience!

Crockett and Lovelady trip: This house was very nice and especially liked the wrap around porch with plenty of rocking chairs. You could always find a shady spot with a breeze. The view was of pasture land and cows coming and going. Very good views of the sunset. Only draw back for me, was that the house was a little to secluded at night.

Amazing house! This is such a hidden gem: If you want to completely escape from the rest of the world, this is an amazing space to do so. A beautiful farm house surrounded by pasture and woodlands. Less than 10 minutes to Crockett. This farm house has such a safe, welcoming vibe. The wrap-around porch was a favorite hangout for watching birds and taking in sunsets. The kitchen is an amazing space, with limited cookware. Thank you, Ali, for the beverages and snacks...that's such a nice touch! A beautiful yard for the dogs to run. A nice space to hang out after dark...the night sky is breathtaking. This is one of our all-time favorite rentals, and we hope to return very soon!

The home was beautiful, spacious, clean and enjoyable for our family. The only problem we encountered was the A/C upstairs did not cool well at all. We were in town for two nights due to a family reunion so we did not spend time in the home during the day. The first night we attributed it to our arrival and the unit possibly not being turned on prior to our arrival. The second night we did not return back to the home until late evening and it was def. warm upstairs. The temp. would not drop on the thermostat after being lowered both nights. The family members sleeping upstairs had to move downstairs. For the record, management was not notified because of the late hour and our early departure Sunday morning. I notified the owner once we left the house so I am sure she will rectify this issue for future guests.

Absolutely gorgeous farmhouse with plenty of room for the whole family! The attention to detail in regard to amenities and decor really shows and makes you feel right at home. Sitting in the rocking chairs on the porch with everyone while looking at the cows and countryside was the highlight of our weekend, it was such a peaceful experience. Girls trip: House was immaculate and very quaint. We wish the weather had been better for sitting on the porch. Close enough to small towns for some great food and far enough away to feel like you were really remote. Gravel and dirt roads to the property. Half bath is outside for ease of access when you are outside. Would definitely stay again!

Absolute slice of heaven in the piney woods. The pictures do not do this house justice. The views from the porch are breathtaking. We spent every morning with our coffee just soaking in the green fields and wildflowers and cows grazing. So so peaceful and quiet. A true retreat from Dallas life. 4 nights wasn’t enough. Amazing kitchen with everything and then some. Great beds and softer bath towels than my own house. Really really enjoyed our stay. Thank you Ali for sharing your amazing property!!

Holiday in Crockett, TX!: My mother, my sister, brother-in-law, and my children all enjoyed a relaxing 5-night stay in this beautiful abode! It was like spending Christmas in a Hallmark movie set. The house is well-equipped, the views are gorgeous, and the management is very helpful. We loved our stay!

My only regret is not staying longer! I generally don't like traveling close to Christmas but this stay was such a treat. We were pleasantly surprised by the Christmas tree upon arrival. The house was incredibly inviting and cozy. We really appreciated the stocked coffee bar and drinks in the fridge. It was very apparent Ali loves hosting and making sure you have a great stay. Our family of six loved this home and can't wait to come back. We have stayed at a few different places in Crockett and Grapeland but this one is hands down our favorite!

A true retreat this home has all the charm of a old farmhouse with lots of upgrades and all modern creature comforts. The views of Texas countryside from every window will instantly put you at ease. We stayed with two little ones loved every minute. We would love to come back for another stay. The host was extremely responsive, flexible, and patient as we stayed on a whim due to power outage from storms at home. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

OMG....this was the best stay ever!!! This place is right out of central casting if you were looking for a farmhouse. The house had plenty of space, the kitchen was huge and had everything you could ever want, and you are away from all the troubles of life!!! We are already looking to our next trip out to East Texas....it is the perfect get away!

The farmhouse was absolutely beautiful and great for a family with kids: two bedrooms upstairs away from the adults and two bedrooms with king beds downstairs. The beds were excellent and firm for a bad back while being soft enough for comfort -- even had a variety of pillows to choose from (firm and soft, for your preference). The house was probably better baby proofed than even our own house in terms of breakables away from little hands. FYI: the "yard" isn't completely fenced but the pasture around it is [with barbed wire].

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Such a great home with a personality and everything you could want. The kitchen is more than fully stocked with everything you need, and there are more spices than in your corner market. This would be such a great place for a small family Thanksgiving or another occasion. Plenty of room for the children and pets to play outside, more than enough room for everyone inside. Tell the children to bring all their ipads and other electronics etc as the internet is extremely strong. While there is TV and Fire Stick in the house, we streamed on my Directtv Stream account and it never slowed or stopped. A definite keeper.

Great property, wonderful views! Did have an issue with wasps coming in from the fireplace (to be expected in the country, maybe) but hopefully they will get that fixed soon, and with that issue aside it was truly a great space. Clean, homey, comfortable, great HVAC system and charming furnishings. The brick floor in the kitchen was also a great touch, we loved cooking at the big island in the kitchen! Watching the rain, or mist, or the sunset from the back porch in the Texas Fall was truly gorgeous too. Easy drive to Crockett National Forest as well, which is definitely worth seeing if you're staying here.

If you want to sneak away and breathe a little this is the spot. The home is so beautiful, with historic architectural pieces throughout, a near wrap around porch, and sweeping views of farmland and trees. You immediately feel right at home, and the host is so quick to reply with anything you need. We enjoyed shopping at a few local antique stores (wish we had known about Crockett Days -look it up if you like to pick!) and we found a local coffee shop just minutes from the house! My tip would be to buy groceries at a bigger store in a city before you head out, but that’s it, it was a lot of fun!

Beautiful Country Getaway: This property was amazing and very relaxing! Just what we needed for a long weekend getaway. It's remote, but close enough to Crockett to still do shopping and other activities. We loved watching the cows in the morning and stargazing in the evening! What a wonderful stay! We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at this beautiful farmhouse. There are two large bedrooms with king sized beds and one very large full bath on the first floor. This was so important for my 80 year old mother with mobility issues. The second floor has a bedroom with two twins and a bedroom with two full beds. Connecting these two bedrooms is a huge (huge!) bathroom. I loved and appreciated the plentiful supply of coffee and the heavenly wraparound porch with lots of seating. Watching the sunsets with the cattle in the distance was so nice. I can’t think of anything at all I would add or change about this great place and look forward to more visits in the future. Check-in and check-out were a breeze with the lockbox and great communication from Ali.

Peaceful location with great views: If you want a peaceful location, great sunset views — this is for you. It was perfect for our family of older children that wanted to relax. Even in the heat of summer, the house was cool. Next to a great little town with antique shops and fun eateries. We will definitely be back. And bring food to cook, this kitchen is a dream. The snacks were our kids' favorite!

WOW! This place was incredible. If you truly want to escape to the country (and from people!) look no further. The house was absolutely gorgeous and beautifully decorated. Snacks and beverages were available at check-in, as well as farm fresh eggs from a neighbor. The hospitality was unmatched and it was truly one of the best airbnb experiences I've ever had. The wrap-around porch is to die for! Ali also was able to accommodate my last minute booking request (a Friday noon request for that very weekend) and I couldn't be more thankful. Can't wait to visit again from Houston soon!

Texas was so good to us!: This charming Farmhouse and property was exquisite! Our daughter and her family lives in Crockett, TX, however family from FL and KY met-up and stayed in the Farmhouse while visiting. It was absolutely beautiful and we loved everything! If you are looking for a private country dream stay, THIS IS IT! Our family of 5 felt like we were walking into a well-stocked and welcoming country refuge, perfect for relaxing, playing around the huge property and generous deck surrounding the farmhouse and waking up to the sounds of a rooster, song birds and the occasional low of the cattle in the field beyond when we cracked open the windows - loved it! Sally and her crew left an ample supply of snacks, drinks and complimentary wine to welcome us, plenty of cooking supplies and seasoning (fully stocked kitchen!) and a lovely coffee and tea bar - so thoughtful! We would highly recommend her home for a large family or two small families for a relaxing and comfortable stay!

The pictures don't do this place! It is amazing - so quiet and serene! The only sounds are those of the wind through the trees, cows mooing in the morning and the coyotes howling at night! The house was spotless and well kept. The appliances and furnishings were updated and well appointed. I so enjoyed cooking in that gorgeous kitchen! I rocked on the porch chairs while watching the amazing sunsets. There was more than ample room for our whole family. We enjoyed every minute of this place!

The grounds were lovely and so was the house. Private. We had dogs and while they played and romped the cows would watch them. The beer, wine, and soda that they had available was very nice and they also had many spices which made it easy to prepare meals. The hosts were fantastic and came through and saved the day for us. Very nice of them. The history of the house was interesting. We thought it was an old rehabbed farmhouse but learned it was built in 2006 with many old and original items from other houses. We will definitely be rebooking this house again. A 5 star home

2nd stay at this beautiful house: The house and surrounding views were beautiful and relaxing. Enjoyed the bird and cow watching. Was concerned about it being cold bc the house is so big but the heating was extremely efficient. The internet was a little intermittent for TV watching and laptoping which was disappointing esp to our teen. In the kitchen one of our dogs found broken glass under the coffee bar but thankfully he wasn't hurt. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking and had nice snacks and drinks but there was enough dog hair in the kitchen we had to wash much of the things before we could use them. The big tub in the upstairs bathroom is a treat, wish I had one like it at my house! Prompt communication back when we messaged about the internet.

The reset to peacefulness: Absolutely loved this property and house! The drive alone to the house began the process of peacefulness. After two years without taking a break and working straight, this holiday was much needed. But, even more so this exact getaway was what the soul craved. The house is gorgeous! My husband, fur kiddo and I took in the beautiful land. Enjoying the sunsets and sunrises in all their glory. Played games by the fire on chilly nights, baked cupcakes, walked the grounds or just sitting on the porch with coffee watching the cows. The house itself has everything you need in essentials. The owners were so kind with communication, they welcomed us with goodies and invited us to use our partake in any goods in fridge or pantry…. hospitality was on point! We enjoyed the peaceful week! Just what we needed. Thank you for sharing your home! We hope to be back soon.

Wonderful farmhouse get away!: Our girls trip to the farmhouse in the country was fantastic! The house is wonderful! Plenty of room for everyone, kitchen was big enough for several of us to cook at the same time and well equipped. We spent most of the time on the wrap around porch or out at the fire pit. The property is very peaceful. We will definitely come back.

We can’t say enough great things about this special property. It was everything that we had hoped for — comfortable, amazing kitchen, beautiful surroundings, off-the-grid feel with all of the on-the-grid amenities (our experience with WiFi was perfectly fine) … and the views at sunrise and sunset were just amazing. The wraparound porch is perfect for hanging out, eating meals, and watching the kids play in the huge yard. There is an exceptional BBQ spot at the closest intersection towards Crockett called Mimsy’s—not to be missed! We absolutely loved our time here and can’t wait to return.

A place for all of us: There were 4 adults and 4 children ages 1, 4, 11, and 12. Plus 5 dogs. We were running from Hurricane Ida and were worried about exposure to Covid. This place was perfect because we were in the country, the kids and dogs could run and play around the yard. The porches the baby loved because he could run and not be in the high grass. The house was roomy and we were not crowded. The kitchen was nice to work in and the amenities were just what we needed. Thanks for a good experience.

Gorgeous Farmhouse and Property: I took my mom and boys for a few day get away to this beautiful property. The owners were gracious and the home/property was beautiful. They had put such attention to detail in the home as well as for guests. It’s a wonderful quiet getaway if you crave some country living and solitude. The home has one bedroom downstairs which worked great for my older mom and plenty of bed space overall. The house itself was beautifully done. Just a wonderful place and we would love coming back.

Women’s Conference ladies: We had a group of ladies that were a part of a women’s conference and so we rented this facility and were very happy with everything about it. We were able to hold a meeting there while we were there, we were able to just get together and fellowship. The ladies who stayed the night enjoyed their stay; other ladies went on to their own destinations but we enjoyed the facility. The house was beautiful and everything was nice and clean and they were very thoughtful to leave snacks and coffee and tea.

This home is more charming and beautiful in person! The porch was spectacular with lovely views of green fields a cute cows. The inside is decorated beautifully and was very comfortable for our family. We had everything we needed including snacks and drinks. The internet was a bit sketchy but we were there for pleasure rather than business. If anyone has a wedding to attend at the Ranch at Hickory Creek, this is the place you should stay! The house is beautiful and the decorations scenery thoughtful touches and kitchen were wonderful. our main issue was the internet. we've stayed in rural places before that charge far less and they always provide sufficient internet for us both to work from home. this location only provided sufficient internet data and speed for both of us to work for one or two days. if you plan to stream content video chat or need internet speed and data while on your trip this may not be the best place to stay. also the road to the house is a little rough especially if it rains and there are spaces in the fence around the house where smaller dogs like ours who is 35 lbs could get through.

Spring Break 2021: My family and I just ended a wonderful stay at this property. We loved being so far in the country where we could enjoy star gazing in the evenings with the only sound was the blowing wind. Plenty of room to let our dogs run. We enjoyed cooking our meals in the massive kitchen that had every utensil you would need. We enjoyed the evenings with a fire and played games. The entire house was clean and presentable. The owners were very responsive to anything I asked about. Many personal touches throughout the house made it inviting to all of us. We can’t wait to return again.

Relaxing secluded getaway: We stayed for a quick getaway from Austin. The property is a farmhouse on acreage outside of Crockett. The farmhouse has a timeless look and feel. It was built in 2006 so everything is new and updated. The kitchen is huge and makes buying some groceries and staying put easy. There is great natural light and views of the surrounding farms. We spent most of our time on the rocking chairs on the great wrap around porch reading and relaxing. Enjoyed it!

Amazing Farmhouse: A seasoned VRBO user across multiple continents, but I have never seen an accommodation so comfortable and well appointed as this one. NYE 2020: My husband and I decided to book a last minute get away to wish a long 2020 goodbye. We arrived late in the evening of the 30th, from the second we saw the house, we were in love. We enjoyed a few quiet and calm nights at the house. The kitchen is to die for! We had to go into town and buy chicken fried steak ingredients because I was obsessed with cooking in such a nice and unique kitchen. We really enjoyed our time, the house was clean, very relaxing, and even stocked with snacks. While we were there, a cold front blew in, so it was mostly cold and rainy. The host allowed us to check out later because she felt bad we’d had such gloomy weather. However, we really enjoyed the rain and even braved the cold to enjoy sitting out on the porch watching cows and drinking coffee. We couldn’t have found a better place to ring in the new year. I hope we are able to return soon. I highly recommend.
